Where To Find Them.
1. Palm Springs + Desert Hot Springs, California:
Palm Springs and Desert Hot Springs are famous for their luxurious spas and therapeutic hot springs.
Palm Springs used to actually be known as Agua Caliente in the 19th century. Agua Caliente translates to Hot Water.
The land is filled with palm trees and a constant flow of hot springs, hence came the name Palm Springs.
Further into the desert, you will find the neighboring town of Desert Hot Springs where there are natural hot springs that you can soak in, absorb the magnesium and release your stress.
One of the most incredible experiences is at Two Bunch Palms in Desert Hot Springs.
Two Bunch Palms is a luxury wellness resort that has hot springs on property along with one of the most amazing spas in California.
Palm Springs and Desert Hot Springs are also nearby to Joshua Tree National Park which makes another stunning wellness and healing destination.

2. Camp Verde, Arizona:
I’ve often found that anywhere there is an energy vortex, there are often hot springs within a close-ish proximity.
Therefore, 40 mins drive south of Sedona – you will find Campe Verde.
These are a more hidden gem when it comes to hot springs and not overly commercialized like a lot of other hot springs destinations.
You will actually find the hot springs at Fossil Creek National Park and from what I’ve heard it is quite a bumpy / off-roading type of road to get to.
You will need a national park pass to access the springs and it’s a gorgeously secluded way to relax, soak and let your worries go.
3. Hot Springs, Arkansas:
Hot Springs is a small town in Arkansas with historical charm and lots of stunning spa experiences.
This picturesque town is renowned for its natural thermal hot springs, which have been revered for their healing properties for centuries.
Rich in magnesium and other minerals, the hot springs offer a blissful retreat for those seeking respite from stress and anxiety.
When I went to Hot Springs, I was actually very shocked because I was hunting everywhere for the actual hot springs to soak in.
While there are some thermal springs in the Hot Springs area, what you will find for soaking is actual bath houses!
Along the main strip of the town of Hot Springs, you will find a variety of bath houses.
These bath houses actually pump the water from the natural hot springs into the buildings.

When you go and soak in the bath houses, you will feel like you’re in a spa experience but actually soaking in natural hot spring water.
It’s really wonderful because you can to a place like Quapaw Bathhouse and soak in the thermal baths, and then go for a massage, facial or other type of spa treatment.

4. Blue Lagoon, Iceland:
The Blue Lagoon is probably the most Instagrammable natural hot springs in the world.
This geothermal spa in Iceland is famous for its milky blue waters and miraculous healing powers.
You can also experience an “In-Water Massage” and “Float Therapy” – check out the menu here.
Packed with minerals, including magnesium, silica, and sulfur, the lagoon’s warm waters have a profound effect on stress reduction and overall well-being.
And before you go dipping your entire head in the Blue Lagoon, a commonly asked question is:
Can I put my hair in The Blue Lagoon?
According to The Blue Lagoon’s official site: “Is the lagoon’s renowned geothermal seawater harmful to your hair? No, it is not harmful. Geothermal seawater contains high concentrations of minerals, such as sulfur, silica, and magnesium. While these are great for your skin, they can leave your hair feeling dry and matted.”
The article then continues to say that even if you do accidentally put your hair in the water, it will return to normal within 2-3 washes!
Here’s the full article so you can read it and prepare for your trip to Iceland!
5. Mallorca, Spain:
In close proximity to Ibiza and Es Vedra are the hot springs located in the stunning scape of Mallorca, Spain. One stunning wellness hotel hosts access to these magical Spanish bodies of water.
Accessible through the breathtaking adults-only wellness hotel – Fontsanta, they provide an opportunity to unwind while enjoying the island’s picturesque surroundings.

The Science Behind Hot Springs’ Healing Properties.
Many people have reported miraculous healing by going and soaking in natural hot springs.
So, what is the science behind soaking in hot springs?
Natural hot springs offer a natural way to relieve stress and help tension to release from the body by combining the soothing warmth of the water with the presence of essential minerals like magnesium, calcium & sulfur.
Magnesium, in particular, plays a vital role in stress reduction by promoting the production of serotonin, a neurotransmitter known for its mood-boosting effects.
Soaking in hot springs can also improve blood circulation, ease muscle tension, and detoxify the body, leading to a sense of overall well-being.
