Easy DIY aloe vera face mask for travel

aloe vera plant to use for moisturizing face mask

Do you struggle with keeping your skin soft and moisturized when you travel?

Does your skin feel extra dry after a long flight?

When we travel, especially after taking long flights, our skin is prone to losing moisture.

This can make our skin feel dry and appear dull.

Replenishing the moisture in our skin is key to ensure that we maintain radiant, supple skin no matter how often we travel.

In this article, you will find the recipe for an easy aloe vera mask that will pump your skin full of moisture and restore the radiant glow in your face.

You can easily do this face mask you land at your new destination from the convenience of your hotel room.

Why does skin get so dry on plane flights?

  • Low humidity: The air inside airplanes is often very dry, with humidity levels as low as 10-20%, much lower than the typical indoor humidity of 30-65%. This low humidity can strip moisture from the skin.
  • Recycled air: The air circulating in airplanes is often recycled, which means it has passed through the plane’s filtration system multiple times. This recycled air can further dehydrate skin as moisture is continually removed with each pass through the system.
  • Altitude: Airplane cabins are pressurized to simulate an altitude of about 6,000 to 8,000 feet, which can affect the body’s ability to retain moisture. At higher altitudes, the air is thinner and drier, exacerbating dehydration of the skin.
  • Limited hydration: Passengers may not drink enough water during flights, either due to limited access to beverages or simply forgetting to stay hydrated. Dehydration from lack of water intake can contribute to dry skin.
  • Exposure to irritants: Airplane cabins can contain irritants such as cleaning chemicals, recycled air, and potential allergens. Exposure to these irritants can exacerbate skin dryness and sensitivity for some individuals.

This face mask will help to moisturize your skin, improve elasticity and texture and adds a lovely radiance to your face.

You can smooth this mask on your face and then let it set while you enjoy a cup of herbal tea or glass of wine from the balcony of your room to kickstart the vacation.
